Hurricane Relief

Displaying the Gospel in a Time of Need

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, countless lives have been impacted by devastation, loss, and uncertainty. As a church committed to living out the gospel, we see this as a crucial moment to respond with the love of Christ by meeting both spiritual and physical needs.

Your generous giving can make an eternal difference. By donating, you help provide vital resources such as food, water, shelter, and medical aid to those affected. More than that, your contribution enables the continued proclamation of the gospel, offering hope and comfort through the message of Jesus Christ in the midst of suffering.

We invite you to partner with us as we serve the needs of our those in Eastern TN and Western NC, reflecting God’s love and mercy through tangible action. Every gift, no matter the size, will be used wisely to meet urgent needs and advance the gospel. Let’s stand together in this moment of crisis to bring hope, healing, and the good news of Jesus to those most in need.

Three Ways to Serve

As a gospel-centered church, we are called to respond to the brokenness in our world with the compassion and hope of Christ. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, many are facing immense loss, fear, and uncertainty. We encourage you to join together in prayer, lifting up those whose lives have been devastated. Let us pray for God’s comfort, provision, and protection over those impacted, asking the Lord to draw near to the hurting and provide for their needs. Let’s also pray that, in this time of crisis, hearts would be opened to the life-transforming hope of the gospel and that God would use His people to bring healing and restoration, both physically and spiritually.

In response to the hurricane that has impacted Tennessee and many other states in Appalachia, 2nd Genesis ministry is making preparations to head to Butler Tennessee no later than October 10th. 2nd Genesis will be providing disaster relief including food and immediate-need supplies for the residents of the area displaced by the storm and first responders.

If you can provide any of the items listed below, you can drop them off at the church building by October 9th. Donation collections will be taken each day until 4PM. You can drop these off in the foyer.

If anyone can join us while we deliver much-needed supplies and desperately needed hope that only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can provide, please reach us through Facebook or any of the contact methods below:

As with any disaster of this magnitude, circumstances and needs will be constantly changing. Please be in prayer for the families who have lost everything, our safe travels there and returning, and that we honor and glorify God by serving the communities of Tennessee while pointing them to the only one who can truly save them. We thank you for your continued partnership in spreading the gospel.

Several churches in our network, Acts29, were impacted by Helene. In addition to supporting the work of 2nd Genesis on the ground in Eastern TN, you can give to support the work of local churches in Western NC. Steadfast Church of Asheville NC experienced devastation from the Hurricane. They have set up relief efforts for those in their church and community. The funds will go to help rebuild and restore the lives of those impacted by Hurricane Helene in both TN and NC.

To give, visit rhccartersville.com/give and allocate your amount to the specific fund marked “Hurricane Relief”.
