Fasting in March at RHC

In the book of Acts, we see a powerful pattern: as the early church worshiped and fasted, the Holy Spirit moved, and the gospel was sent to the ends of the earth.

Lately, the Lord has laid a conviction on our hearts. While we emphasize prayer and the Word, we have often overlooked the discipline of fasting. Fasting is a physical expression of a spiritual reality: that we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Join Us This March

Throughout the month of March, we are inviting our entire community—members and friends alike—to join the elders in a season of fasting and expectant prayer.

Our Focus:

  • The Lost: Praying for the salvation of our neighbors and co-workers, and specifically for those who will join us for our Easter service on April 5th.

  • Direction: Seeking wisdom for future church planting.

  • Revival: Asking for a spiritual awakening right here in Cartersville.

How to Participate

This isn’t about rules; it’s about a spiritual rhythm. Please choose the path that best fits your health and leadings:

  • Standard: Fast from one meal per week throughout March.

  • Advanced: Fast for two meals or an entire day each week.

  • Alternative: If health concerns prevent food fasting, consider a "fast" from social media or entertainment.

The Goal:  Let every hunger pang serve as a prompt to seek the Father’s face and intercede for the lost. While we are encouraging the church to fast together on Wednesdays, please feel free to choose whichever day works best for your schedule.

Remember, we don’t fast because God "owes" us, but because He loves to work through a people who are desperately dependent on Him. We can’t wait to see how King Jesus moves in our midst this season!.
