RHC Counseling?

Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called ‘today,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:12–13

Who Can Be Counseled?

At this time, counseling is reserved primarily for members who have covenanted with Redemption Hill Church and agree to submit to the authority of Scripture. Non-members may be considered for counseling on a case-by-case basis, depending on the availability of the counselor.

What Is Biblical Counseling?

Members seeking counseling services from RHC Cartersville can be assured that all counseling will be conducted in accordance with the counselor’s knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures and their application to the issues of life.

We believe that “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right” (2 Tim. 3:16).

Therefore, all our counseling is biblically based, with the Scriptures as the sole authority in all cases.

This means our counselors will not use, refer to, recommend, incorporate, or otherwise depend on the teachings or methods of modern psychology or psychiatry. Our counselors do not serve as mental health professionals and do not follow those practices. Additionally, it is our policy not to refer individuals to such professionals.

When Are Counseling Sessions?

Counseling sessions will be scheduled based on the availability of the counselor. This means sessions may be scheduled during daytime hours. If you have a job, we ask that you prioritize counseling and make arrangements to take time off as needed. If that is not possible, notify your counselor, who will attempt to find an alternative time.

Please note: You will be notified of counseling times well in advance. It is the responsibility of the counselee to ensure their calendar is clear to attend the session. If multiple sessions are missed, the counselor reserves the right to postpone or cancel further sessions.

How Many Sessions Are Required?

Because counseling is designed to address sin at the heart level, no fixed timeframe can be guaranteed. Counseling may range from as few as 3 sessions to 10 or more, depending on the severity of the issue and the condition of the heart. The counselor will determine the appropriate number of sessions.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

James 5:16
