Mens Brawl Conference 2025 - Group Questions
Session 1 - You have more than silver and gold to offer
1. Why might Luke emphasize that the man was lame from birth rather than just “injured”? Point out the Beautiful Gate?
2. Where are the “Beautiful Gates” in your own life—places where people wait, hoping for help but expecting only silver and gold? Or a place that keeps them from real worship?
3. What does Peter mean by healing “in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth”? How does this moment connect to Jesus’ own miracles in the Gospels?
4. The man doesn’t just walk; he leaps. How does this fulfill Isaiah 35:6, and what does it suggest about the kind of restoration Jesus brings?
5, What do you think draws people toward counterfeit spirituality? Peter Popoff and Pope Innocent--which type is the stumbling block to you?
6. What might it mean for our small group or church to rediscover what it is to have “nothing but Christ—and therefore everything that matters”?
7. Where has God placed you, like Peter and John at the temple, to simply “live life” faithfully—and be ready when opportunity comes?
8. As men we often feel pressure to do something when we see need. Peter and John didn’t have silver or gold—how comfortable are you admitting “I don’t have what it takes” and still showing up because you know Jesus?
9. Peter commands in Jesus’ name. Men often equate authority with control—what’s the difference between controlling power and Christ’s power?
10. Men respect strength. But in this story, true strength came through dependence on Jesus. When does self-reliance rob you of spiritual strength?
11. Read the rest of chapter 3. How does Peter leverage the healing for the mission of the chruch?
Missional Boldness -Session 2 Discussion Questions
1. Discuss how a burden for the lost leads to boldness for the gospel. How can you cultivate a heart for both in your life?
2. Think about a season when you felt most timid in your faith. During that time, were you connected to other believers? How does genuine brotherhood in Christ help strengthen your courage to speak the truth in love?
3. The apostles didn’t pray for comfort or safety—they prayed for boldness. When you look at your own prayer life, what do you find yourself praying for most often? What does that reveal about where your confidence truly lies?
4. What is your biggest obstacle to living boldly as a follower of Jesus?
- In your home?
- In your workplace?
- In your community?
- Close your time in prayer together.
Follow the model from Acts 4:
- Begin with adoration — praise God for who He is.
- Root your prayer in Scripture — recall His promises.
- Center your focus on the cross — thank Him for salvation.
- Petition Him for boldness — ask for courage that comes by His Spirit.
- Name unbelievers you want to see come to faith in Christ, and confess where you’ve lacked boldness.
